Anyone going? I'll be there on my little SRX250. And I'll have at least one friend on a CBR250.

Anyone else going to get the little bikes out and play?

Supermotos (all sizes) and road bikes 250cc and below.
4pm till 9pm. Also there are usually some juniors there on metrakits etc.

Just a practice session but hella fun.

Did I mention the corners are tight and the straights are short smile.gif

Here is a google maps of the kart track.

http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&hl=...=18&iwloc=A

Forgot to mention.. Anti clockwise is the normal direction. So extra extra fun!

I'll go even though I don't wanna take my bike on the track. I don't know if my ego can handle getting lapped by a scooter.

Removed the collector box from the exhaust system, saved close to 2kg's too - changed end can and added paint too.

Well I had an awesome session out on the track, so many tight corners you know they are there but you forget how tight they are after riding of the road for a bit. There were scooters out in force, and juniors galore - I had not seen that many juniors at one session before, like a swarm of bees around the track, totally awesome.

I was having some great fun battles with a couple of people on moto lites, those 80cc 2 strokes are quick. Twice one of them (Jason I found out his name to be) decided to crash right in front of me. Managed to keep clear of him both times (and no real injuries). What a hoot!

QUOTE (vic @ Jun 24 2008, 12:37 PM) *
Yeah I checked out the practice night at Ippy Kart Track on the weekend. Basically the supermoto racers are just a bit fast ninja.gif There was one rider / Josh Macfarlane / who was just smashing the track. He was sliding through a set of corners onto the main straight, near full on the gas, scraping a peg lap after lap. Modulating power with the clutch I guess. I think he was also bouncing the bike pegs off the ripple strip to flip the bike through the chicane too - which is ninja.gif if that's actually what he was doing. Have not seen sumo racers before and it was eye opening.

I saw Simi on his 250 getting round pretty swiftly. 250 looks plenty unless you are some kind of two wheel genius. I'd be plenty happy to rip out there on a 250.

But me and my 690 have no right being on that same track is how I'm feeling right now. It's just a reciepe for tears. I've just decided that mid week rides around the northside haunts is prolly the way to go to get my thrills. When I get my modified leathers I'll be doing just that.

I will have to check out Morgan Park raceway though - it looks better suited to ma bike.

Normally there is a fast moto group and a slow moto group. I can organise that for next time if you want to go out and have a try. You'll be surprised at how fast you pick it up once you get out there. The boys there are really friendly too, so if you want to ask any questions about riding or set up they are generally more than willing ot help.

The 690 will be good on the MP track. But track days are only every 6 weeks. There is one on this friday, if you can make it to that. You'd have to book in the next couple of days though.

I will indeed be at the next one (And I'll have my friend on his pretty red CBR250 out too).
They were running the two groups of super moto, the fast guys are pretty quick, makes me want a supermoto to play, but the SRX is neough to get giggles on.
My advise would be to go on the track it's fun. If people on scooters can go on the track I think you on a 690 should be out there having a blat smile.gif
