Back in July 2008 i bought a wireless Netcomm ADSL2+ modem/router and PCI card for one of the computers. I think the PCI card progressively found its way through a variety of PC's until every one in the house was on laptops. Being the old fart i was always relegated to the poorest performing PC where this card would always be installed. Surprisingly my latest hand me down is a reasonable mini tower except for the slowish internet performance. Today i decided to something about it and bought a TP-Link card with 3 antennas which has absolutely transformed my internet speed. The modem is upstairs in another room, not directly above and this PC is downstairs with enough timber walls and ceilings to dampen connectivity. Previously i was getting 2 bars, sometimes 3 and drops down to 1. Since installing the card this evening it has been consistently reading between 4 to 5 bars with a very noticeable increase in speed. For $33 it seems i have transformed the old dog into a pleasant working machine.
