All Motorcycle Drag Racing at Willowbank - Sunday March 8th 2009 will see Willowbank Raceway in Queensland host an all-motorcycle drag racing day. Not to be confused with the popular Superbike Supply Shootouts, the similarly named Morgan and Wacker Motorcycle Shootout will be an actual race event with multiple classes qualifying, then racing of in the normal elimination style of racing.

Classes hosted will be a Harley/Buell class, the ANDRA classes of Comp and Mod bike, as well as a "Streetbike DYO" class which would be limited to street bikes only, with handicap style racing (dial your own). This class would be ideal for those wanting to step upfrom the normal Shootouts, and sample some actual racing.

Entering to race will cost you $45.00, and get you and one other in. Spectating will cost $19 for a human, with students $17 and kids 13 and under FREE!

Hope I can muster the same form on the day unsure.gif

As long as you're consistant, you'll be fine.. thumbsup.gif

Brad, thats fairly consistant times, you should do ok, the last time I went, I was within 0.1 or so, not real flash but we'll see..

Now all I have to do is tell Robyn and get a leave pass whistling.gif

Hmmmm I might just have to pen this one into my calendar, so i can take the family up there. Never been to Willowbank for Drags or any other racing as yet. Last time I went too or even dragged one of my bikes was way back at the old Surfers Paradise International Circuit. thumbsup.gif

Superbike supply shootouts are a lot better value for money in my opinion.

With this sort of event where you actually compete, if they are running elimination style knockouts not sure if you'll get too many runs for your $45.

This is quite true really smile.gif

At worst you will get 3 qualifying runs, and then when eliminations start, you will get 1 more run if you are knocked out in the first round ( race ) wacko1.gif If you were to keep winning and go on to win your bracket and get a trophy, then you might only get another 4 runs ( races )

So a winning rider will get around 8 runs for their entry fee, and at a shootout you might get over 20 runs thumbsup.gif devil.gif

I think I'll be getting a few runs in from 9am till 12, I won my last trophy around 30 years ago, I enjoyed it then and it is only up to me to to be consistent enough to keep winning races, thus enabling me to have more runs smile.gif smile.gif but if I get knocked out.... oh well... next time.... smile.gif smile.gif
